Literature Text

working behind the scenes is hard.

all my life, you've been there.
i poured my grief upon you,
     and it evaporated.
my worries tried to multiply,
     but you stopped them.
you gave me all my pride,
shared my glory, my efforts, my work.

i stand here now, feet barely touching floor.
the only thing holding me down
is the sickening truth that you cannot witness me
at the height of my glory.

did you go
as soon as you thought i didn't need you anymore?
another for le scraps.

this is my excuse for not doing my (infinite amounts of) homework.

loosely inspired by the death of obama's grandmother.
(please, make no assumptions of my political party. i refuse to disclose political preference.)

real nice plummy didn't need the obama reference really but still a nice touch and as on-the-drag said first one i've read that hasn't been personal
